At least eight people were killed and dozens injured after a landmine explosion occurred in Kinewba village, along the Ngala-Dikwa road in Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State. The incident took place about 15 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the state capital, on Tuesday.
Two vehicles, an Izuhu van and a lorry, were damaged beyond repair after stepping on the landmine. A security source reported that eight civilians, including two children, were feared dead, and several others were critically wounded in the blast. A top civilian JTF source confirmed that nearly all the passengers in the affected vehicles were feared dead.
